Police were called to St. Joe Avenue and Columbia Monday around 5:00 pm in response of a pickup truck that crashed into the the old Egli’s grocery store.
A witness told police she saw the driver, 36 year old Wesley Nicholson, leave the Walgreen’s parking lot and stop on St Joseph Avenue.
She says Nicholson was passed out, so she started hitting the window to wake him up.
He then stepped on the gas, causing him to hit the building.
He was taken to the hospital and admitted to using heroin before driving.
