Effective Tool In Aiding Law Enforcement Could Come To An End

WeTip, a fully anonymous system for reporting crime, may be a thing of the past when the new prosecutor takes office in January.

The hotline has been around since 2013, put in by current Vanderburgh County prosecutor Nick Hermann.

Candidates Jon Schaefer and Diana Moers are worried the cost out weighs the benefit.

They both say after taking office they will speak with law enforcement before making a final decision.

Last year around 1,000 tips were submitted.
