Children were almost hit by a drunk driver Saturday night on the lot of Franklin Lanes.
Someone took away the driver’s keys so he wouldn’t get away before police could get there.
EPD officers say when they arrived, they noticed the man, identified as 64 year old Donald Vowels, had poor balance and slurred speech.
Vowels told officers he had consumed a half pint of whiskey before driving to the bowling alley.
The empty bottle was found in the saddle bag of his motorcycle.
He was arrested and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
