Evansville Police were dispatched to the 1300 block of Shanklin Avenue Sunday morning around 5:00 for a female that was just assaulted and bleeding.
The victim told police her ex-boyfriend had strangled her until she lost consciousness.
Later, while the male was walking the victim to the hospital, he told her that he was taking her out of the home so her children wouldn’t see him kill her.
He proceeded to punch and kick her repeatedly dragging her by the hair until she got away.
Officers found the suspect at the victims father’s house.
He was cuffed and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
