The Better Business Bureau wants to warn the tri-state about an unusual scam that’s attracted people that are looking to buy an exotic animal.
Mainly on social media, these scammers show pictures or a video of a cute monkey, bird or even a snake.
Before you spend the money here are some red flags to look for.
The price is too good to be true, the seller prefers to communicate by email and not by phone.
Also, if a copycat or stock photo is being used from another site use a reverse image search to see where the photo came from.
Remember, It’s always best to visit the seller and new pet in person.
