Heat related deaths are preventable, but every year hundreds still die.
According to the National Center for Environmental Health limit your outdoor activity, especially midday when the sun is the hottest and wear loose, lightweight, light colored clothing.
Also, drink plenty of fluids even if you don’t feel thirsty.
People 65 and older, children younger than two and those with chronic disease are at a higher risk for heat related illness.
Be sure to check on them often.
