The National Suicide Prevention lifeline is changing their phone number to something much easier to remember.
Over the last 15 years it has been a ten digit number.
Saturday it changes to just three, 9-8-8.
Emily Reidford mental expert with Easterseals says it’s going to be all encompassing and can be used not only for a suicide or mental crisis, but for those suffering from substance abuse.
Texting the word “HOPE” to 741-741 will also get you help.
