The death of 11 year old Camrynn McMichael of Mt. Vernon was caused from a head injury due to a firework mortar.
Posey County coroner Bill Denning has ruled his death an accident.
The incident happened Sunday night in Mt. Vernon on Canal Street.
Officials say counselors will be available to talk with students Thursday afternoon from 2:00 to 7:00 at West Elementary School.
To help with funeral expenses the American Legion Post 5 in Mt. Vernon are accepting donations for an auction.
Monetary donations can be dropped off at United Fidelity Bank.
