Burn Ban Issued For Evansville

Evansville city and county officials have issued an open burn ban effective immediately, due to the lack of rainfall.

This also includes the area 4 miles past city limits.

All forms of open burning are included but not limited to recreational fires, burn barrels and agricultural and ditch clearing.

Also on the list, previously approved open burn variances and previously approved air curtain incinerator permits.

Cooking on a grill using gas or charcoal is permitted.

Fire officials advise people to dispose of cigarettes and matches safely.
