The Evansville teen charged with attempted murder was released from the Vanderburgh County Jail due to mistaken identity.
Around 2:00am on May 22, two off-duty police officers heard shots fired outside the Corner Pocket Bar.
17 year old Denali Thomas was arrested for firing shots at the officer, because he matched the description of a black male wearing a black hoodie, and black jeans.
The Detective reviewing video from that morning, noticed the shooter had a logo on the back of his black hoodie, where Thomas did not.
He immediately called his supervisor to say the wrong person was arrested.
The new suspect was later identified as 32 year old Randall Hood.
He was already in jail on other charges.
