Former Vincennes Police Chief Dustin Luking was arrested on multiple criminal charges on Wednesday.
The inquiry was initiated in July 2019 after money was discovered missing from the Vincennes police department.
Detectives say more than $35,000 was taken from the evidence vault and Luking is accused of using the funds for personal use.
An audit revealed additional discrepancies going back as far as 2013.
The former Police Chief is detained at the Knox County jail.
His bail is set at $10,000 dollars.
