The flight of a convicted murderer and the Alabama corrections officer with him ended in a car crash and a gunshot Monday afternoon. WIKY’s Jay Zimmer was at today’s press conference, and found out the following details.
The pickup truck the fugitives were first spotted in Evansville in was reportedly bought in Tennessee with funds Vicky White had after selling her home. Officers found $29,000 in the car.
Vicky White apparently financed her flight from Alabama, and that of convicted murderer Casey Cole White by selling her home. That gave her the cash they needed to stay on the move. The gray Cadillac they tried unsuccessfully to escape in, had Indiana plates, but its exact origin isn’t yet known. Vicky White shot herself to death in that car.
