Fugitives from Alabama are no longer on the the run thanks to a tip from the owner of Weinbach Carwash, James Stenson.
He noticed a black truck with Tennessee plates in one of the bays on May 3rd; it had been there overnight.
Video footage shows the former corrections officer, Vicky White picking Casey White up from the carwash in a gray Cadillac.
That Cadillac had Indiana plates but it’s point of origin is still unknown.
Authorities caught up with them at a motel on Highway 41 and that’s when the White’s took off in the Cadillac.
The Marshall’s taskforce officers purposely collided with the vehicle pushing it into a ditch near Anchor Industries, ending the chase.
Sheriff Dave Wedding says had the Marshal not ended the chase, the fugitives planned to shoot it out with law enforcement. Several guns, including an AR-15 were found in the car.
Vicky White then shot herself in the head.
Casey White was grazed by the bullet, but not seriously injured.
They were both taken to the hospital.
Life saving measures were performed on the female suspect; she died soon after.
The corrections officer was last seen with the male suspect on April 29 in Lauderdale County, Alabama.
Authorities still have questions, such as, where did they get the Cadillac ?
They say the couple came to Evansville and remained as a happenstance while they planned their next move.
According to the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office, Casey Cole White was booked into the jail at 1:42 Tuesday morning.
He has waived extradition and will be returned to Alabama at a later time.
