WOW! customers may still be without phone service since the company was purchased by Astound Broadband.
The interruption has been frustrating for most, especially for area businesses where the phone is there lifeline.
As of Thursday, nearly 20,000 services had been restored.
WIKY news reached out to Astound, they responded with this statement…”We are aware of outages affecting a small percentage of phone and internet customers in the Evansville area.
An unexpected glitch occurred on our servers which prevented some customer equipment from being properly recognized on our network”.
Representatives for Astound say to monitor their social channels to stay up to date.
