The former YMCA Building at 203 NW 5th Street is being put to good use.
Mayor Winnecke along with local leaders cut the ribbon for the grand opening of Central Lofts.
This new affordable housing project has 62 available units with only 26 units filled and six have been leased.
This 108 year old structure has kept many of its original features.
The funding came from Federal Historic Tax Credit and $11.5 million in Rental Housing Credits from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.
The new apartments are based on income.
