Mirri the clouded leopard passed away by humane euthanasia at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden this week.
After a medical examination, officials at the zoo determined that Mirri was suffering from renal failure resulting in pain and discomfort.
She lived to the ripe old age of 18, beating the average life expectancy by five years.
The wildcat made Evansville her home in 2005, coming from the Columbus Zoo.
Clouded leopards get their name by the large dusky gray blotches and irregular spot and stripes on their coats reminiscent of clouds.
