Last Wednesday, Evansville Police received a call about a student bringing a gun to Fairlawn Elementary.
A teacher found it while going through a backpack.
According to a student’s grandmother, the school nor, the EVSC called her about the incident.
She called the school after reading about the incident on Facebook.
The grandmother received a call from the principal saying, no one was in harm’s way, the gun was unloaded.
An EVSC Official says, “We cannot legally disclose certain information about student matters”.
“We communicate with the individuals who are directly involved with the incident”.
