Monday morning Dubois County police responded to a knife fight.
Officials say, 23 year old Ruben Cruz struck his partner in the face then held a knife to the victim’s throat while choking them.
Cruz took the victim’s phone stopping a call to 911.
There was an order of protection against the suspect.
He was arrested on five felonies, seven total charges and is detained at the Dubois County detention center.
