A Mt. Vernon couple were sentenced Tuesday afternoon on a previous charge of child neglect.
John and Tammy Crowe will serve 30 days in jail, plus 18 months probation.
Indiana State police say, they were arrested in November of 2019 after detectives discovered they locked their young children in an upstairs room for long periods of time.
The kids didn’t have a bathroom or electricity.
The room was exposed to outside elements because of a broken window.
