Members of the Indiana General Assembly deny advancement to a controversial education bill on Monday.
House Bill 1134 would have placed restrictions on what teachers could say in the classroom about gender, race, ethnicity and religion.
Members of the Indiana House and Senate took two recesses Monday to discuss 1134.
After reconvening GOP leaders said the bill would not be advancing.
Bills that don’t advance this week are expected to die.
The General Assembly must adjourn by March 15.
