The Hopkins County School Board votes to merge three schools into one.
At Tuesday’s meeting, the board approved a plan to merge Earlington Elementary with South Hopkins Middle School and South-side Elementary.
The plan would close Earlington Elementary and South Hopkins Middle School which would form a K-through-8 facility.
Some parents expressed opposition to the plan, which avoids costly repairs on the three involved buildings.
