The surge in Covid cases is effecting the number of school bus drivers working for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation.
When drivers call in sick, on top of the shortage, bus drivers have to double up on their routes.
This means that students have to wait longer at the bus stops in the cold temperatures.
A mother of a McGary Middle school student said that her child waited an hour for the bus.
EVSC Chief Communications Officer Jason Woebkenburg says the district has ways of communicating with families about bus delays, but sometimes it’s too late.
