Vanderburgh County has confirmed it’s 500th Covid-19 death.
This puts Evansville back in the red zone.
According to Indiana dot Gov, the state is just over 17,000 deaths since the pandemic started almost two years ago.
Posey, Warrick, Spencer and Perry Counties are also in the red zone.
With the new variant Omicron spreading across the country, many local lawmakers are pushing for more Hoosiers to get vaccinated.
