A close call for employees and inmates at the Henderson County Detention Center.
Someone reported a fire in the laundry room, and flames were seen shooting from the roof late last night.
The area was evacuated quickly and everyone went to sectioned parts of the jail to safety.
Multiple departments responded, including the Henderson Fire Department, Deaconess Emergency Medical Service, and the Kentucky State Police.
According to officials, the fire is believed to have started in a dryer.
EMS checked on inmates and reported no injuries.
