Princeton native and Petersburg High School graduate Gil Hodges is among a class of six players voted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame.
The announcement was made on Sunday.
Hodges’ entrance to the hall of fame was through the Golden Days Era committee whose candidates made their mark on the game between 1950 and 1969.
Hodges was an athlete at Petersburg High School, and played 18 years in the majors.
The two-time World Series title-holder managed the Miracle Mets in 1969.
Hodges died in 1972 at the age of 47.
