29 of 30 suspects are in custody following a months-long drug investigation that culminated in Evansville and the TriState area including Henderson, Newburgh and Princeton earlier this week.
At a morning news conference, U-S attorney Zachary Myers says the distribution of meth and fentanyl was an organized conspiracy led by Julian Green of Indianapolis.
Green directed drugs from Mexico to other levels of the organization, where it was distributed to lower echelon members for sale.
It wasn’t uncommon for the suspects to carry guns in the course of their alleged crimes.
DEA local Agent in Charge Mike Gannon says more than 3,000 fentanyl pills were seized along with guns, meth, and thousands of dollars ion cash.
Of the 30 suspects under federal indictment, only Walter Moore II remains at large.
The rest are in federal custody and are undergoing prosecution.
