Twenty-six year old Diana Ellmers was sentenced Thursday to twenty-six years in prison, for the attempted murder of a Vanderburgh County Sheriff Deputy.
Back in September of 2020, a deputy checked out a report of a stolen car hit on the railroad tracks in the southern edge of the county.
Ellmers and the passenger Cade Kirk fled from the scene, but were later spotted.
Ellmers started shooting when officers approached her.
She and Kirk were both hit from return fire. Cade Kirk’s trial is set for March 9th.
