The van used in an attempted ATM theft was stolen from an apartment complex.
Police reports say the unlocked van was stolen from Normandy apartments. The suspects tried unsuccessfully to crack the Regions Bank ATM on Eagle Crest Boulevard.
That van was later located at Ashley Point apartments.
Authorities say the suspects were spotted in a different vehicle, then led police on a chase that ended in a crash in Mt. Vernon.
The three suspects that ran from that crash still have not been located.
Police are working with the FBI and believe the suspects are part of an organized ring that are hitting ATMs throughout the Midwest.
