A former law enforcement officer is accused of firing a gun at a moving vehicle.
31-year-old Donald J. Carlisle, a former Oakland City Police Officer who worked for the department until 2020, is being charged with attempted murder after witnesses say they heard Carlisle threatening another man then firing shots at him.
A probable cause affidavit shows that Carlisle and another man got into a fight at a party on East Easy Street near Oakland City.
Carlisle then left, and so did the victim and a group of his friends.
The affidavit shows Carlisle was called back to the party, and as he was walking back, crossed paths with the other man’s vehicle.
That’s when the incident occurred. The victim was hit with debris, but kept driving out of the neighborhood so he could call 911.
Carlisle was charged and booked into the Gibson County Jail.
