Sad news from the Mesker Park Zoo on Friday.
Mechi the rhino was humanely euthanized earlier this week after it was determined an inoperable tumor in her reproductive tract was severely affecting her quality of life and well-being.
Mesker Park Zoo director, Eric Beck says it’s a decision they don’t take lightly.
Mechi was 35-years-old and the oldest living Greater One-horned rhino in the managed population.
