An Owensboro man will head to prison for life without the possibility of parole after agreeing to a plea deal.
Matthew Adams pleaded guilty to the strangulation death of his then-girlfriend, 25 year old Erica Owen.
Her body was found in 2018.
She worked at Owensboro Health as a nurse, and had a restraining order against Adams at the time of her death.
Adams’ plea deal allows him to avoid the death penalty.
