The Red Cross says its supply of blood hasn’t been this low in years.
Regional blood manager Sherri McKinney calls it “critical.”
She says the organization has les than a one-day supply based on the demands of the hospitals they serve.
There is a particular need for Type O blood since it is considered the universal type.
All potential blood donors are encouraged to set up blood drives and individual donations online.
