The Evansville City Council says “no” to a proposal to divert money from construction of Roberts Park.
Councilwoman Missy Mosby proposed that amendment, which would have reallocated the one million dollars to build Roberts Park, and instead spend the money to shore up parks in need of repair.
Deputy Mayor Steve Schaefer proposed to include $300,000, to be supplemented by private donations.
That money would be used in the budget for immediate park maintenance, allowing construction of Roberts park to proceed.
That idea was also voted down
