From the Warrick County Sheriff’s office:
On 10-8-21 at approximately 1:21 a.m., the Warrick County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a grey van for erratic driving near the intersection of SR 66 and SR 261. The vehicle initially appeared to stop but then accelerated away attempting to flee from the Deputy. A short vehicle chase ensued down Vann Rd. and then North or SR 61. Deputies along with the Boonville Police Dept. deployed stop sticks with the driver’s vehicle striking the stop sticks. Once the vehicles tires became flat the driver pulled into the Boonville Middle School access road and fled on foot. After a brief foot chase the suspect was apprehended by a Warrick County Deputy and his K-9 partner. The suspect was taken to the hospital and treated for minor injuries and released. The suspect was identified as Joseph Mangold, age 37 of Evansville, IN. Joseph has been charged with Resisting Law Enforcement (Level 6 Felony), Criminal Recklessness (Class B Misdemeanor) and Reckless Driving (Class C Misdemeanor).
**All suspects are presumed innocent unless or until proven guilty in a court of law
