Evansville officials confirm that a check for $40,000 in city money was snatched while heading to its destination.
Mayor Lloyd Winnecke’s Office claims the check was supposed to go to Thyssenkrupp Elevators for work at the Deaconess Aquatic Center.
They say the elevator company has been paid, so the issue won’t change opening plans for the aquatic center tomorrow (Fri).
