An Evansville man convicted of a 1992 murder is back in jail on several charges.
E-P-D detectives say home surveillance footage shows 48-year-old James Decker appear to hit a man with a car at Florida and Morton before getting out and kicking him, then taking his phone.
The victim told police Decker had also taken some items from his backpack and stomped on his face.
Decker is facing battery, criminal recklessness, robbery and leaving the scene charges.
Decker had received a 50-year sentence murdering an 88-year-old victim during the course of a burglary when he was 19.
He was released in March
