A historic building that has stood for almost 150 years will be torn down next year.
The bricks in the walls and foundation are crumbling, and there are other problems inside.
Dan Heckel is director of mission advancement and communication for the Mount Saint Joseph Conference and Retreat Center.
The building was constructed in 1874 as the Mount Saint Joseph Academy by the Ursuline Sisters,
which closed in 1983. and the building was given the name it has now.
Heckel says the ministry will continue.
