Global demand for coffee reaches epic levels as the world re-opens following the COVID pandemic.
The problem is a drought in Brazil is negatively affecting the harvest of arabica coffee beans, driving prices to their highest levels since 2016 according to the Wall St. Journal.
Supply chain delays are also inhibiting coffee bean exports from Colombia and other south and Central America coffee growers.
So far, roasters haven’t raised their prices for consumers, but that could happen soon if demand continues to increase and the south American drought continues.
