Henderson City Commissioners say a study shows the sale of the Henderson Municipal Power and Light to Big Rivers would actually result in a long-term financial loss. A
nd that’s why they voted unanimously to support the utility commission’s recommendation to turn down the offer.
Big Rivers estimated the city would come out 25 million dollars ahead by 2035, and customers would be better off to the tune of 165 million dollars.
But Commissioners said those figure did not correspond with those obtained by an independent evaluation.
