A Dubois County jail officer is on leave following allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a jail inmate.
Officer Ryan Schmitt is formally charged with sexual misconduct with a detainee.
Deputies say it happened in March.
The inmate involved is no longer in the Dubois County jail, but is incarcerated in another jail on unrelated charges.
