Evansville fire units had to call for help with a house fire a few minute after midnight this morning.
Steamy heat made it difficult for firefighters to deal with the heat, so they called in extra manpower to enable them to rotate and get the fire on East Louisiana put out.
Two dogs survived the blaze, but a pet parrot did not.
The residents weren’t home at the time.
Cause of the blaze is still being probed.
