An 18-year-old is accused of dragging a police officer nearly a block down the street with her car.
It happened near Heidelbach and Diamond around 11:30 a.m. Monday.
Officer Nathan Jones was flagged down by a man who said he had been in a domestic dispute and wanted to get out of the area.
That’s when 18-year-old Maeling Smith allegedly drove up and started yelling, and refusing instructions to stay in her car.
E-P-D Sgt. Nick Winsett says when Jones tried to take Smith into custody, she broke free, and put her car into reverse trapping Jones who was hospitalized.
