A study aimed at reducing gang violence in Evansville is under way.
The Board of Public Works authorized $380-thousand for the probe being done by the National Network for Safer Communities.
City attorney Marco Delucio says the organization as had success in other communities which is why Evansville leaders were drawn to them.
The study is a cooperative effort between the organization an the Evansville Police Department.
