USI officials say they’ve been hit by hackers phishing attacks that have been too successful.
At least 20 accounts were penetrated and thousands of emails have been sent out under those accounts.
The emails said the student or staff member had used up their email capacity and should click a link which then steals their password.
Information Technology people at USI says if you clicked that link, change your password immediately and don’t use the old password ever again, as the hackers will keep it — and sell it — to try to get into bank accounts, and anything else that uses the old password.
