E-P-D Officers were dispatched to a shots-fired call in the 500 block of South Bedford about 8 o’clock Saturday morning.
When officers arrived, they noticed it looked like there was forced entry to the front door due to damage along the door frame and splintered wood.
Officers then entered the home to check the welfare of anyone inside . That’s when they saw a man in the kitchen in a pool of blood.
Officer also noted seeing a shell casing, smeared blood stains on the walls and signs of struggle.
Central Dispatch fielded a couple of calls from people who heard shots.
The callers were uncooperative and would not talk to detectives.
Investigators were able to trace one of the calls call to the 3900 Fulton Ave. which is the Shady Tree Apartments.
There, officers spoke to the fiancé of the victim, who told police that her fiancé, identified as 28 year old Timothy Y. Adams, went to Bedford Ave. for drugs with four other men.
E-P-D Sergeant Nick Winsett says Adams entered the Bedford Street house which was not occupied at the time, and was apparently shot by accident by one of those with him.
They left him in the kitchen of the home.
Adams’ fiancé’ told police the men could be found at apartments on Fulton Ave.
Three of them were taken into custody without incident and were questioned at police headquarters.
22-year-old Kingston Southard reportedly told detectives they went o a house to try to rob the people there of drugs and money.
He told police , only Adams and a man who is referred to as Biker Cox went inside, leading police to believe that the Adams was one of the alleged burglars.
Biker Cox was conbsidred armed and dangerous.
He was arrested in Henderson early Tuesday morning (4/6) and lodged in he Henderson County7 Jail pending his return to Indiana.
Southard was arrested on burglary causing death charges along with 18 year old Zaelin Fox and 24 year old Dayvon Lang.
An autopsy performed on Monday showed Adams died of a gunshot wound to the torso..\
