Steps are being taken to keep some early voting in Kentucky elections.
The changes in the 2020 election were prompted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
House Bill 574 would designate the Thursday, Friday and Saturday before an election day as “early voting days.”
Ballots would have to be received by the end of election day.
They would then counted on election day.
It would also allow counties to petition for regional voting centers.
The measure has been passed and must be signed by Governor Andy Beshear by April 8.
Beshear’s office has not yet announced when he will sign the bill into law.
