Mayor Winnecke discussed an upcoming relax of the city mandate concerning masks.
The mayor told reporters this morning that he talked it over with the city’s public health team.
Their opinion was that the city should follow new state guidelines announced last week by Governor Eric Holcomb.
Those call for relaxing the statewide mask mandate to a mask advisory.
The city will follow suite, mandating masks only in public buildings such as the Civic Center and public facilities suh as <ETS buses.
He says businesses can decide whether to require masks, and he asked for respect for those who choose to wear a mask or not wear a mask.
The new protocols go into effect April 6
