The pandemic meant no prom last year for many high school students. This year, one local business owner wants to hold a “Prom in the Park,” for any high school student who wants to attend.
Kassy Lauer, owner of Paparazzi Glamour & Gowns, is planning the event for May 15. The outdoor location will do away with the problem of having a big crowd indoors.
On Wednesday, Lauer went before the Evansville Parks and Recreation Board to get approval to use Garvin Park for the event.
No one over 21 is allowed, but current college freshmen who missed last year’s prom are more than welcome to attend.
