Evansville police say the person shot on South Bedford about 2:00am was only 15 years old.
According to reports, officers found the teen shot in the midsection and the leg when they arrived.
He was conscious and alert before he was taken to the hospital.
Authorities expect him to survive his injuries.
Officials say neither the victim nor witnesses were able to give officers any suspect information.
Several shell casings were found on south Bedford Avenue near Lincoln.
No arrests have been made.
