An E-P-D detective was shadowing a suspected car thief Thursday morning,
38 year old Anthony Scott Sapp and confronted the suspect when the car got stuck.
But the suspect got the car un-stuck and allegedly tried to run the officer down.
The detective fired one shot from his service weapon and hit the suspect in the shoulder, but Sapp continued to fight, despite being shot, as police tried to get him out of the car and he had to be tased.
He was treated for injuries at a local hospital.
No officers were hurt and the detective who fired the shot is on administrative leave as is protocol in officer-involved shootings…
